Description
West Kilimanjaro camp is, in essence, a semi-permanent version of Kirurumu’s Mobile Classic Camping with a few added extras and frills that are easily afforded by a semi permanent camp. The tented accommodation is luxuriously comfortable and spacious with en-suite bathrooms and is, naturally, fully and tastefully furnished.

The camp is set in under the spreading branches of Acacia tortillis nestled near a volcanic cone which affords superb sundowners and good views. Views of Kilimanjaro camp all the way to Kilimanjaro’s summit are superb and resident game is very good. The ability to walk, night game drive and see Maasai in their natural surroundings makes this a very special place indeed. Fly camping away from camp is also entirely possible.

Rooms / Facilities
West Kilimanjaro’s tents are as follows:
5 double and twin customised safari tents. The largest tent available for safari camping and as used for our classic camping.

Each tent is fully and tastefully furnished with:

	Comfortable, (twin) beds with 6” mattresses, pillows, blankets & sheets.
	Luggage rack, table, safari chairs, mats & soft furnishings in individual style.
	Solar lighting in both the bedroom and enuite toilet and shower room
	Dining room with waiter service

In addition the camp has:

	A locally furnished dining tent for breakfast, lunch and romantic, candle-lit dinners!
	A campfire area.
	Complete privacy.

Activities
West Kilimanjaro Camp is a perfect springboard for various differing activities throughout the Concession:

	Bush breakfasts / bush lunches or even bush dinners!
	Day and half day game drives
	Night game drives
	Walking from 1 hours to full days
	Fly camping from 1 to 4 days
	Ethno-botanical guided walks (with local Maasai)
	Cultural interaction with Maasai (limited time and impact visits)
	Especially on family safaris: a chance for children and adolescents to spend time with their Maasai counterparts and learn how young life is lived in Africa.

	3 hours from Arusha
	2 hours from Kilimanjaro International Airport
	1 hour from West Kilimanjaro airstrip (for charters)
	1 ½ hours from Londorossi gate (Kilimanjaro climbs)

West Kilimanjaro camp is therefore an idea start or end to a northern circuit safari, and with easy charter options can be combined with many other places too.
